The excitement of getting cosmetic braces, knowing that soon you’ll have beautiful, straight teeth sometimes gets in the way of talking about your after-braces care. There are a couple of things to bear in mind for when you get your braces off.
Firstly, teeth will move and continue to move after treatment so it is very important that you have some kind of retainer to keep the teeth in place. There are a number of different types, although generally a fixed and removable retainer is made. They are very discreet and in most cases they are very easy to get used to as well.
Also, the other thing to bear in mind is that with any brace treatment, the teeth are moved into position. Braces can alter the position of the teeth although not the shape. So you may find that after the treatment the teeth are in the right position although they still don’t look quite right.
