Dental Sedation - Nervous about dental treatment?
Would you like to have treatment but are too anxious or scared?
We do this by:
Dr Majid is the principal dentist and practice owner, and has over 20 years experience in administering intravenous sedation.
He will administer the drug, be with you for all procedures and carry out treatment while you are undergoing sedation.
Dr Majid is very proud of offering intravenous sedation, as it means he can help anxious patients get dentally fit.
Jenna is a dental nurse and the practice manager at Lifestyle dental. She qualified as a sedation nurse in 2019.
Jenna ensures the practice safely offers intravenous sedation. She helps assess your need for sedation and will also be there every step of the way of your treatment.
If you have any questions or concerns about how intravenous sedation works she will ensure you are fully informed of all your options – as well as intravenous sedation.
Not everyone is suitable for intravenous sedation in a dental setting. As part of the selection process we undertake a full dental examination to assess your needs. We will do a further in depth pre op medical assessment where we give you an in depth description of what dental intravenous sedation is, what it can do for you, what to expect and the alternative anxiety management options that are available. Only then can we confidently recommend intravenous sedation where appropriate.
If you require more information about intravenous sedation, as well as any other anxiety management option, please call the practice on 01772 717316 to discuss the options available to you in full.
Intravenous sedation is when the dentist gives their patient a sedative drug before the dental procedure. It helps reduce anxiety, and many patients do not remember much of the procedure.
Intravenous sedation does not put you to sleep. It is classed as conscious sedation, we can still talk to you, you may lose your memory of the procedure, and your anxiety levels will be extremely low. You cannot drive after the procedure.
Having intravenous sedation means you will be able to complete treatment that you may otherwise have not been able to go through with. Our implant patients often have sedation, and it makes longer appointments more manageable.
“I recently made an appointment with Nadim for dental treatment, I was a nervous patient the whole of the people who are there put me at ease . Was easy to talk to , I had to be sedated as I was so bad and I opted for it . Nadim explained everything and ensured I was ok throughout treatment , Jenna called me a few days later to check how I was after sedation at home .They all have changed my thinking, what used to put me in to blind panic is now enjoyable and a great experience .I would recommend them to anyone they are wonderful , caring practice .Changed my life I’ll be forever grateful”
